Chasing cars...

Never had a stronger meaning to me than today... Well, our driveway is maybe 20 meter long and is going downhill. Yesterday and at night it snowed a lot, that even the schools closed today - what was just the perfect start into the day... hello 7 hours of extra work!! - and this morning our driveway was super super super icy. Probably a 1 cm ice-layer on the street.
I realized that, when our housekeeper meladis rang the bell and told me she can't drive up the driveway cause its so icy. no problem, I bought some ice melting salt and put it on the driveway.
Meladis parked her car somewhere else because she was still scared of driving up there and so she walked. I was inside, practicing piano and then looked after the boys. Suddenly a motion outside caught my eyes. And I realized, that my car, which was parked over night at the driveway, was sliding very gently downwards heading towards the street. I ran outside (no shoes) and managed it to get in to the, fortunate, slow sliding car and brought it to stop somehow.

Not the only thing of the stuff which went wrong today...
Pizza dough didn't work properly, burnt my hand and cut my finger during cooking and fall very hard on my butt while unicing the driveway.

The good thing: Just can get better!!!
And the week was very good so far. Got 3 letters from germany =) Danke Anne!! Mari Luise und Lammels!

between healthfull and sick

Maybe the double layer socks, super warm jacket plus scarf and winter boots were not enough to prevent a cold... Since 3 days I'm fighting a hard battle against the disease. In the morning and the evening the disease makes a lot of land, but with the amazing power from gallons of tee and grandmas woolen socks I strike back, but in the evening, however, the throat gets thick again...

Time for the ultimate weapon a humid throat cloth! Disgusting to wear, but very effective...

And since I will watch "Mall Cop" today i should win the fight. Laughing is healthy!

YEYYY mail for me =)

Today the package from my mum arrived! There is nothing more exciting to open packages!

Et voila :

Finally I can learn swedish properly

Today was a really good day so far. Rescued the house and the boys from serious damage, with taking away their chairs, they were about to throw at each other - i´m not kidding -, have been to the make up rehearsal of the nova choir, got an accompanist for the singing competition and bought a lot of super reduced stuff at target. Could it be better? Of course, but it also could be much worse =)

Here I would like to brag with my grandma! This is a part of the presents she handcrafted on her own. She is damn 94 years old! I guess noone can beat that...

Have a nice sunday everyone!

Not fair!

Isn't it unright, that if I wanna practise singing, my voice simply sais "No, not today..."?! its really annoying!

Whatelse, lets see. Its still really cold here! A big part of my time I spend watching the simpsons online.

Yesterday I got the O K to drive with the car to phillie. Unfortunately I will have an au pair meeting at the 1st of Febuary. We need another weekend Tommy!

Today I wanna find out, if there are any more choirs in the area. I mean the Nova choir is not that bad, but its still an average age of 50+

I really have to see CJ again soon. I'm running out of love ;) I didn't see her for 3 weeks! Thats too long!

This day was awesome so far!

Why, you ask? Well, I woke up at 5:50 :/ and went back to bed at 7:15 =) And didn't leave it before 12. What a wonderful lazy day. First I ha to tell myself, that its ok to have a lazy day. Not going to the gym, not practising piano or singing, just lie in bed and relax...

Oh and I was shocked today by mum... I called her and she told me, as if it was nothing to mention, that she got an operation yesterday at her head. They should call me in the future if something like that happens or not?

have a good one

HISTORY!

Well, I´m realy looking forward to the day, my future little son or daughter or both will come to the american history and politic system. Espacially when it will come to the year 2009. Then daddy Georg can tell his children. " Yes, it was this kind of a cold grey day in Washington Dc. I walked with aunt Kris and aunt Tati through an ocean of people and came to rest between the george washington monument and the 2nd world war memorial, when I heard and saw that :

My daddy saw Obama live, my children will say to their classmates....

But it wasn´t only big O, no I heard speaches from Jack Black, Dancel Washington, Tom Hanks and a lot more famous stars, had a singalong with noone else than Stevie Wonder and listened to Mary J Blidge, Bono - finally I know who that is -, Shakira, Beyonce and Jon Bon Jovie

Yes I was at the right place! And the best part : FOR FREE!

This was a little part of the crowd...

"I wanna get experiences"

Well thats probably the most common answer, au pairs give when they are asked at the embassy why they wanna go to the states.
Its funny because I remember myself standing there after 3 hours plain waiting, answering with that answer, without imagine that there could be hard and not so "easy to get" experiences...

I really never could imagine that it could be kind of challenging to have 6 or 7 hours only for your self. Of course you can sleep the whole time, but that isn't the solution for me. Now, after 4 months, I'm at the point that I can say : I can deal with myself. And trust me it wasn't a nice lesson sometimes. Especially when your work is basically sitting in a chair, observing and be careful not to fall a sleep.

At some point you start searching for reasons for your boredom and you start blaming friends for it, that they don't write as often as you wished they would or you blame the family you are living with, because they are not so fascinating like the Flyns, you blame the town because there is nothing going and so and so on. After a lot of time I figured out : " Hey Idiot, its you, only you. Either you can deal with our self or you should go home. So its better to become friends now and deal with each other (yes I started talking to myself...).
Thats how I become a friend of george =) whats your story :P ??

I'm such a good guy!

Yesterday evening/night, it was damn cold outside, when I left the Jammin Java. In the darkness I saw a guy walking walking walking. I don't know why, but I shouted to him, if he needs a ride somewhere. He said he was heating to the metrostation - and I know how it sucks to walk there cause its far... - and I told him that I can drive him.

It's funny, after he told me that he is homeless, he was in his mid-twenties I would guess, my build-in alarm-system turned on for some reason and all the stories the cop at the New York Au Pair school told us, came to my mind.
But Johnny, that was his name, was super nice and knew actually a lot more about the world than many other americans I met so far. He came with 6 from Columbia to the states and hates the country.

After I dropped him off at the station, I felt fantastic and I would do it again and again =)

Wohooo new week new luck?

Well the last weekend eventually got a happy end with a delicious brazilian dinner in Bethesda. Thanks to the fantastic cook Tati!

This week is pretty busy... Tomorrow I will have a rehearsal with another choir and hopefully the average age isn't again 50+...
And on Friday I gonna find hopefully a basketballteam!

No pictures, because my great hostdad is still too busy to let me do anything with the internet here.... For all those who don't know, my macbook can't connect to the wi-fi...

Have a good week.... And if you feel bad, just take a look at Gaza and see how wonderful your life is

Curse???

Why isit always like that? Doesn't matter when I go to the Jammin Java during the week, always a show which is ok or good sometimes even awesome, but never at the weekend. Or at least at the weekends I wanna have fun there. That just sucks!

Good morning Germany and good night America....

Jammin Java...

Its like my Internetroom which is 20 walking minutes away from my room. It sucks to have to go there always when the "family-trash-pc" is occupied by one of the other family members...
Thank God that this place here exists.

Whats going on today? I don´t know yet. Seems like I will get wasted in the JJ tonight. I should buy something thats always fun =)

The best thing in america? You feel always supereor... Its unbelievable how many people here have no clue about anything. Finally I´m super intelligent=)

Eine kleine Nachricht an Kathrin falls sie sich hier rumtreibt: Wir sollten mal telefonieren....

I´m fighting my way through the soccer, bball team jungle and wrote about 7 e-mails... hopefully the heir of Toni Polster or Detlef Schremp will find a new team.

Best wishes back to Germany! Enjoy the winter!!

Hidden Camera

Ok guys, I got it now.... This is the show with the hidden camera right? HAHAHAHAHAHA what is my price?

This must be a show... No family does thinks like that! Look at that, isn´t it super redicoulus?!

(Just in case, that you can't read it. The first paper is about a new kitchen tool and to make sure that everyone knows about it, you have to sign you name. The 2nd one is asking if anyone know where the batteries are coming from. You had to write your answer in the brick)

If that is the first thing you see in the morning, its for sure, that you have to treat that shock with a special treatment....

Voila, la cereals d'Oreo. (Thanks Tatti for the perfect christmas gift. The snack Oreos have the ideal size!)

Whatever... Only 20hours a week....

Happy New Year! Finally!

This is the place we`ve been at Midnight. Further than the 38th Street we didn´t come. Yes, after deciding going to Timesquare, than again not going, again going, not going , going, not going, going, not going, we came to the compromiss to go at least into the city to get a little idea about New Years Eve in New York, so we ended up at that place. But I should start somewhere else....

It was this wonderfull couple (to me one of the top 10 parents) and their fantastic children, who invited us to New York.

So it came, that the Sunshinefamily - which found a new child in Mari =) - got ready for the trip with the bus to New York.

This is Mari =)

Of course, I´m still blessed being a child of the great BAYER-Family-Dynasti, which means that you are never save from unbelieveable good surprisings. Well, I got an e-mail from dady and he wrote me, that I should call my wonderfull cousin Angelika immediatly. She told me then, that she will go to New York too and want to meet me=) First she had a lot of plans, but somehow everything was kind of too late to plan something proper. But I had a great guide through NYC at the 1st January! Thanks Angelika!!! It was great! (Ursula Ich wäre unglaublich froh, wenn du das deiner Schwester ausrichten könntest ;) müssen echt bald mal wieder skypen!!!)

So Angelika took me to the top of the Rock, the M&M Store and we participated in the New Years Mess in the Saint Patrick Cathedral

Also we decided to dress up a bit for the big event....

For the trip to New York we had to change our clothes a bit... It was freaking cold!

But before that we had a great time playing RockBand and Wii Sports

Kris did a good job, but Brasil was nearly unbeatable!

Finally we made it to New York at daytime, to see some parts of the city...

Yes, we had to do something crazy =) Taking the big Limo for the ride to the Trainstation!

Happy New Year!
